Access to the gear that makes production real. From cameras to grip trucks, students learn with the same equipment professionals use every day.
LIGHTS ON IS LOOKING AHEAD TO THE FUTURE
We want to make sure production in Omaha continues to shine.
Here's a sneak peek at something we've been passionately planning behind the scenes.
Lights On Education will invite locals through our doors to learn the ropes, learn from some of the best in the area, and connect with Omaha's film community — a community that is already alive and well.
HOW IT WORKS

Access to the gear that makes production real. From cameras to grip trucks, students learn with the same equipment professionals use every day.

Real sets. Real workflows. SLOE connects students to live production environments so they can move from training to call sheets.

Hands-on mentorship from Omaha's lighting, camera, and grip veterans. Affordable programs for young creatives who need a path in, not a barrier.
SHINING LIGHTS ON EDUCATION
OMAHA · NEBRASKA
SLOE is specifically being developed for underserved communities and schools — opening the power of creation to students who may not otherwise see a path into film production.
By engaging students and parents alike, we can show families what a creative and artistic life in Nebraska can look like — and introduce them to the local professionals already making that life possible.
When productions come to Nebraska, there needs to be a trained local workforce ready to step onto set. SLOE is building that pipeline from the community up.
CLASSES + HANDS-ON SEMINARS
The plan is to bring experienced local department heads into SLOE — working professionals who have spent decades on set and want to pass that knowledge forward. Classes, hands-on seminars, and crew shadowing are all in development.
Omaha local pro and seasoned gaffer. Barry will share how the jib opens dynamic shot angles and what practical lighting design means on set.
Decades of electric and lighting experience. Paul understands power distribution, lighting setups, and rental-house operations from the inside out.
Kelli keeps the community connected through the website and Instagram while helping build the voice that brings SLOE to life.
